Cardiff’s Money Advice team is hitting the road this summer to support residents to understand Universal Credit.

As part of the managed migration of ‘legacy benefit’ claimants to Universal Credit, thousands of households in the city have already moved on to Universal Credit, while many more will be migrated over coming months to replace their current claim. The ‘legacy’ benefits which will be affected are Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance and income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

The team will be visiting hubs, libraries and other community buildings across the city throughout the summer to provide information and advice about the changes, and to offer support to customers who are unsure about what the changes will mean for them.

Visitors to the roadshows will have the chance to enter a prize draw to win a £150 shopping voucher. The draw will be made at the conclusion of the roadshow programme.
